I just got a notice from Eurooptic that they are finally building the Zeiss Conqest in a lower magnification, I think they were a 1.8-5.8x38 and a 2.5-8x36. These should make a great hunting scope and are right in the power that I like to use and I think he said they are 20 oz, so not too heavy. If anyone's looked one over let me know your opinion. A shot not taken is always a miss

I would say they will weigh less than 20 oz. The 3-9x40 Conquest weighs like 15 I think so logic would say it should be less than that.

I will buy a 2.5-8 Conquest when they are available. The prices I was quoted were about $460 delivered. Depending how well I can see with it and how it fits I may buy more. Join the NRA

Jon Have any prices or availability on the 1.8-5.5 with a German 4 reticle. I would sure like to try one of these on a .375. By the way I was told April as well, but that may be wishful thinking. I would like to know what you think when you compare the optics to the Nikon 1.5-6x Monarch Gold. I have one of these on a 9.3x62 and is probably optically as good a scope as I've looked through. We are planning on selling both the 2.5-8x an dthe 1.8-5.5x for $469.00. I have a call into Zeiss to see if they can give me a better ETA, because when I placed my order for these scopes, my sales rep said sometime July-August. Are you asking to compare the Nikon Monarch Gold to the Conquest? If so, I think the Conquest is a better scope optically then the Monarch Gold, which is the same glass as the Monarch, but in a 30mm tube. I just wanted your opinion, as I have a couple of Conquests, my one Nikon seems as good optically and is as bright or brighter in low light. If you find out a closer delivery time send me a PM. A shot not taken is always a miss

Jon - I think the 18oz was a misprint from the Zeiss printout. It said: 1.8-5.5x38MC Specs Center Tube: 25.4mm, Diameter 1" Field of View: 18.8-6.2 m @ 100m / 56.4' - 18.6' @ 100 yards Parallax-free: 91.4 m /100 y Exit Pupil: 21.1 - 6.9mm Twilight #in mm: 8.3 - 14.5 Eye Relief in ": 4 Length: 13.5" / 344mm Weight: 18oz. / 410g Adjustments per click: 0.7cm/100m - 1/4 MOA Min. Quadratic adjustment range (" / 100 y)110 Diopter adjustment range: +2/-3 dpt Available in: Black & Stainless Available Reticles: 2, 4, 20, 21, & 57 410g is actually something like 14.3 oz. Now about that 13.5" length, I find that disappointing. I am a big fan of the Zeiss Conquest, but I think they have missed the boat here. The 4x32mm Conquest is longer and heavier than the 6x42mm FXIII Leupold. That is just nuts. This particular scope is longer and heavier than the 3.5x10x50mm VX III. Again nuts...

Funny how their compact scopes are larger then some of their full size 1" scopes and heavier then their 50mm obj 30mm tube VM's.. Like someone else said they missed the boat. I guess Leupold is still the king of compact scopes Working on my ISIS strategy....FORE
