(1)Optical quality goes to Schmidt & Bender (very close)(2) FOV (compared @ 10x) goes to USO, the USO has a significantly larger FOV than the S&B (3) Turrets, I must say I prefer the EREK dial, but the double turn elevation turret on the PMII is a great innovation, within the first turn, use the white markings, after one full turn, yellow indicators fill the windows in the top of the turret, at this point, use the yellow markings (4) Reticle, the GAP Mil reticle gets my vite hands down over the standard P3 mil dot reticle in the S&B, although the P4 PMII reticle looks like a winner. Both scopes are first focal plain reticles (5) I prefer the side focus on the PMII due to its speed and economy of motion, although the ERGO adjustable objective seems to be more precise and more "forgiving" than the S&B, meaning no significant paralax is noticable if the focus isnt adjusted properly (6) Light transmission goes to the S&B, although not a fair comparison due to the USOs 44mm objective and the S&B with its 50mm objective.
I guess to answer the question, if I could choose only one brand, it would be USO, customer service, USOs vast custom build options, and the fact that it is made here in the good ole USA gives the US Optics the edge, as "which scope is best", its a tough call.
