I just picked up a new CZ 550 with the milled dovetail receiver mount. It has a notch milled out on the left rear side for a ring lug. Can I use any generic Weaver type ring or do I need tailor made? I want to use Burris Signature rings but I don't see them in 30mm for CZ.

The CZs use a special ring - not the Weaver style. They have alug off the rear ring that seats against the notch to secure against the recoil. It's not a bad system - not sure where thy got it from or how thay came up with it. A number of rings are now avalaible for these rifles. When I got my ZKK602 back in '84 the only thing I could find were some Tasco rings made in Australia.

I use Talley quick detachable rings with excellent results.

I've used the 1" Talley QD rings and Warne rings. I think the Tally QD's are the best.
