Jon and his crew: They are definitely first-rate.

My view of them is perhaps best described by what a friend experienced when I recommended she give The Optic Zone a whirl.

A few months ago, she decided -- out of necessity, I might add -- to upgrade her optics on a Kimber-sporterized 6.5x55. She doesn't have a ton of money to burn on optics and was actually dreading the purchase. But she had already decided what scope she wanted: a BuckMasters 4-12x50 SF.

She had done her homework and gathered prices from a number of vendors, but I told her to be sure and check with The Optic Zone as their Nikon pricing -- and pricing on other brands as well -- is generally hard to beat.

Sure enough, their price for the Nikon BM 4-12x50 was the best she had found, and she was extremely pleased with the transaction -- so much so that I received a nice e-mail from her thanking me for the recommendation.

And now, an Act of Congress couldn't get that scope away from her...
