I plan to get a 3.5 to 15X Nightforce scope with a mil dot reticle. I haven't yet decide on lighted vs unlighted reticle.

Comments on the benefits of lighted reticles or lack thereof would be appreciated. Also, information on dealers with the best prices on these scopes would be appreciated.

If you're normal hunting lighting situation makes the crosshairs hard to see, lighted is the way to go... You'll want to look through one and make sure the variable brightness will get dim enough as to not hurt the sight picture... Nightforce are excellent scopes so that shouldn't be an issue... I was about to buy one for my 338-378 but just didn't want to spend the extra (kinda wish I did for the excellent magnification range)... I did look through that particular model but it was not illuminated.. The optics were excellent and the eye relief was reasonable and forgiving... Well made product, no question... I looked through them at Cabelas and the price was within about any other price I had seen for them...

Check with Gene Sears Supply in El Reno, Oklahoma, talk to BJ.
Good folks and they have the scopes in stock as of yesterday.
Be sure and adjust the reticle before you go hunting! You want to adjust it to a very faint setting or it will wash out the target in faint light. Best to do it in a completely dark room.............................DJ

I have one on my 7x57 and LOVE it. Clarity is on par with all high dollar scopes But what you get with the NXS is its industructable construction!

Oops... My mistake, I was in Cabelas yesterday and thought I would give them one more look... Had to make one extra stop on the way home because it was Sportsman's Warehouse where I had seen them and that model was $1250... What I certainly didn't know is that they are all illuminated... Hmmm I might have to find the extra couple of bucks and pick one up because they do in fact have excellent optics and they are just about indestructable...

Yep they are worth the money, a little on the heavy side but worth the money. I've got the NXS 5.5-22x56 & love it.
To my knowledge NightForce does not make a scope that is not illuminated.
I bought mine off one of the Sniper Forums & paided $1075 shipped, you just have to be fast as they go quick.
