The only Bushnell product I owned was one of their cheaper rangefinders. It worked fine for my use which was for ranging trees/objects from my archery stands. I used it for several years. Last year the rubberized finish turned into a sticky mess. At the end of the season I called Bushnell and was told to send it in for evaluation. Since I hadn't heard anything from Bushnell for two weeks after the tracking info. showed delivery I gave them a call to check on the status. Their representative couldn't find any info. on the unit and told me apparently the unit was somehow lost. I provided the tracking # and after checking the rep told me he would send a new replacement free of charge. The new unit arrived yesterday and is definitely a step up from my old one.
My first experience with Bushnell but I have to say that's pretty good service.

Labman, glad you got good service from Bushnell, mine was horrible. I bought a rig that had a Bushnell scope and the adjustment covers were missing. Ordered new ones and they sent me a form to be filled out that included country of origin, serial number etc. Sent in and received wrong covers. (would seem with all info provided they would have the DNA on that scope). In turn they sent me a set of very obviously used covers (at new price) and claimed new ones no longer available. In meantime scope itself developed issues (had not been abused). Scope was sent in and sent back to me and still had same issue. Was told to contact a customer service rep Leslie. (never knew if male or female Leslie--have known other Leslies both male and female). Sent scope directly to Leslie and received it back with NEW adjustment covers, but the scope repairs only lasted a couple of shots from my heavy recoiling, shoulder smashing .243. Scope went into trash and all other Bushnells found new homes and it's Leupold for me. Leupold customer service has been customer service.

What exactly were the 'issues' your scope developed, Labman? If it rattled and you haven't emptied the trash yet I'd be interested in what you might find inside.

No scope issues. It was a rangefinder which is the only Bushnell product I own. I sent it back because the rubber housing had turned into a stcky mess. Bushnell managed to loose my rangefinder and sent me a new one as a replacement.

That's a back and forth story, Labman! You bought something that turned out to be kind of crappy, then the company really screwed up by losing it, but then they gave you a brand new one. Quite the emotional roller coaster.
I suppose that IS the definition of good customer service. Not necessarily what happens but how the company responds to it. Nice to hear of your experience.

I received a totally unexpected package from the UPS truck today. The package contained my old rangefinder that I had shipped to Bushnell. Looks like the managed to find it. No note or anything else in the box.
