I need to get some Talley's for my 308Win/Pre-64. I've just noticed there is another choice offered from Talley. "Fixed Scope Ring System" http://www.talleyrings.com/fixed.php

I was going to get these. "Screw Lock Scope Rings". http://www.talleyrings.com/screw.php
But after seeing the former, I'm starting to wonder which is best for my setup.

What's the difference. Is one a lower profile than the other?

PS-My barrel does not have open sights.

The fixed rings are same height as their QR rings and use the same bases. They are basically 2 split rings the screw together without the springs and locking plate of the QR's.
