Hi there I was wondering if maybe I could get a couple of questions answered here. I am looking into getting a Leupold scope. 4x12x50 more than likely. What if any differences are there between the vx-3 and the mark 4 version scopes? Also what is the difference between the 30mm and a 1 inch tube? Currently I have a nikon UCC 4x12x40 that I want to upgrade. Mike

What gun will it go on? I personally like a VX-III 4x14x40 with 30 mm tubes I have two of them and I think they are excellent. I'm not sure but I think VX-III is for hunting and the Mark 4 is more of a tactical scope. 30mm tubes are larger and heavier and basically the just allow a more variable range.

There is no difference. The Mark-4 is more "tactical" looking. The 1" VX-3's are smaller and lighter than the 30mm versions. Same guts, but a smaller adjustment range.
