I just got a Rem 700 in 375 H&H> I mounted a Leuplod VX3 1.75x6 in Leupold QD mounts. I have to turn the windage adjustment all the way to the left to get the rifle on paper> I took the scope and mounts apart and lapped the rings (something I have never had to do before) I put the whole thing back together and the same thing!! The holes in the reciever don't apear to be out of alignment. I have used this set up with sucess on my 458 win mag model 700 with a VX3 1.5x5 and on my Marlin guide gun. I supose It could be servacable as it is. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS OR HAD A POSSIBLE SOLUTION.

I've had two M700's with this problem. Possible solutions: 1. Have gunsmith redrill holes to #8, align. 2. Use Redfield type bases with windage adjsutments. Not too good with heavy kicker. 3. Use Burris rings with the offset plastic liners. "Pos-Align". This is my solution on my alpine rifle.

Brice's 3rd suggestion is what I used; worked perfectly. Note that only Burris Signature rings have the plastic inserts. Pos-align offset inserts for 1" Signature rings are sold separately, in 0.005", 0.01", and 0.02" offsets, either singly or in a set of all three. The 30 mm signature rings come with two zero offset inserts, and two .010" (~ 10 MOA) inserts. Use both of them to get ~20 MOA. 30mm pos-align inserts are not available separately.
