I have a pair of Swarovski SLC 10 x 42's. I really am looking at a spotting scope, but do not want to spend a fortune on something that stays in the pack (at least where I hunt) most of the time. Was wondering how these things work. Obj Dia. exit pupil stuff. Sure would beat lugging a full blown spotting scope. Just curious if any of you guys are using them? Butcher

Wanna buy mine? -Just kidding ....sorta. I bought one to go with my EL's. I tried it once and realized that with that much magnification you need a bigger objective to see well with. I wouldn't reccommend you buy one. I had the same thoughts as you before I bought it........DJ

I would echo what dj said. Had one for a set of ELs. Seemed like it didn't gather enough light, was awkward to hold, etc. I would not recommend one.

Doublers are optical marketing BS, plain and simple. Just about every amateur photographer has fallen prey to the same hype and bought a 1.4x or 2x magnifier at some point only to find out how quickly they turn perfectly good lenses into perfect crap.
