been working on making another 243 for PD shooting. Gave me a good excuse to take a close look at the millet scopes. Ordered one from grafs for $279 a 6.5-25 side focus with mildot. Came in the other day so i looked it over pretty well this weekend. Its a heavy steel bodied scope with a 56 mm objective. Usually i don't care for the big objectives, but they do gather light and in the late evening set on higher power it was nice and bright. The optics are much clearer than i expected for the pricetag. I'd have to say that they are better than the VX1 and on line with the VX11 from leupold. The reticule is a nice fine mildot. Usually i don't like mildots or any kind of garbage i=in my reticules, but the dots on this one are fine enough to actually use. Focus was simple and well working. Overall this is a good product for the use i intended it for. to big and heavy for a hunting rifle, but great for a varmiter

Nice to know. Never used Millets scopes per say but I put a Millet 30mm Red Dot on a 9.3x62 about six years ago & for $112.00 has given me good, reliable service. Cheers, Number 10

Steel body with a 56mm objective? Geez, how much does that scope weigh?

butch.......what do you think of the clarity of the optics when you crank the power all the way up ? I had thought about one of the 6x25 s myself , but went with a 4xx16 cause I was afraid the optics would drop off up around 20 power. the 4x16 does seem like a decent scope , but I think I can detect a bit less sharpness at max power .

it definately drops off, but is still very usable. Not as good as my old 6-20 leupolds, but not all that far behind either. on the other hand its a 4-1 magnification change instead of a 3-1, which makes it all the harder to keep the imagining up
