About to buy a new scope for my 35 Whelen. I want 1,5-6x42, constant #4 reticle, eye relief min 4 ". Beside that robust, water/fogproof, good lense quality, recoil proof. This spells Nikon Monark Gold, or what do you say gentlemen? Any one with first hand experience? Arild Iversen.

I've got the same one except with the Nikoplex reticle and love it. It's taken a fair amount of abuse during hunts without a single problem. The adjustments are crisp and accurate every time, it's sharp and clear. I wouldn't hesitate to get another. -+-+- "If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun." - The Dalai Lama

I have several Monarchs, but only one Gold. Can't find a fault in it yet, good scope. Good Luck Reloader
