About to buy a new scope for my 35 Whelen.
I want 1,5-6x42, constant #4 reticle, eye relief min 4 ". Beside that robust, water/fogproof, good lense quality, recoil proof.

This spells Nikon Monark Gold, or what do you say gentlemen?
Any one with first hand experience?

I've got the same one except with the Nikoplex reticle and love it. It's taken a fair amount of abuse during hunts without a single problem. The adjustments are crisp and accurate every time, it's sharp and clear. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

I have several Monarchs, but only one Gold. Can't find a fault in it yet, good scope.

Good Luck
