If YOU use the circle dot reticle how do you use it, how does it perform, and what power and model scope is it? Thanks, Packy

I have about 5 of them.. all are Bushnells in the 1.5 x 4 or 1.75 x 5 power range.. Like most of my scopes for big game hunting they spend most of their lives on 3.5 to 4 power...

I like the reticle type because it is quick for target acquisition... and is effective out to 300 yds or more.. if the caliber it is mounted on is up to the job...

Working with kids, they seem to like that reticle alot over the plain old cross hairs, for the same reasons as above.. quick aquisition of target, yet they can still it in the reticle style...

I was looking at picking up the Mueller Multi Shot which is a 2 x 7 with that reticle type...

and since they are usually considered a shot gun scope, they can take the recoil of a 338 Win Mag...

I have a Swarovski Z6i 1-6x with a circle dot and I really like this retticle! It is very fast on driven hunts and precise enough for "target" work if necessary.

I use a Swaro 1,25-4x24 with circle dot reticle for drive hunting. While a bit heavy for target work, this reticle works like magic on running shots.

I have a Swarovski 1.5x6x42 PH with the circle-dot and it's fast and great on moving targets but it isn't for Impala at 200 yards.

Not exactly the same thing but I have three guns with circle and dot Bushnell Holosights from 22 LR to 458 SOCOM and find it fast and easy.

IMHO, it's a DG scope reticle, stretchable for use to 150-200 yds for PG, but essentially a quick acquisition, short range, DG reticle - and the best one out there for that.

I have three Swaros with this reticle on two .416s and a .458 and love them.

Thanks for sharing. I think it sounds like the reticle for me as my hunting usually includes brush and short shots, some on moving targets. Wink Packy

I have a 1.5-6x42 Swarovski with the illuminated circle dot reticle on my 9,3x74R double and my double rifle drilling in 9,3x74R/20ga.

I have taken game as far as 300 yards with it. [kudu].

My scopes have the reticle in the first image plane. For fast shots at low power or on moving game I use the ring. At higher power I use the dot.

I have shot a lot of game with this reticle and like it a lot.

On the drilling I have even taken 2 turkeys, 3 grouse, a duck and a squrrrel with the 20ga bbl and the scope in the gun.

I have also used a circle, no dot, reticle in a Steyr AUG, and the circle type reticle in the Leupold CQT scope.
