Just wondered if anyone has any experience of the Leupold extended rings. I have a scope which has a relatively short body tube and I need a bit more versatility than the standard rings I have. On the internet they just look a little precarious to me but have been assured that they are fine.

I would be interested to hear any first hand experience.

Many thanks

Jon....I have used extended rings on several rifles. ( I collect, and shoot pre-64 model 70 Winchesters, and they are all long actions, and with some modern scopes require extended rings.) Have used them on rifles with recoil up to 30-06 with no problems. I use either the extended front or rear ring, depending upon the scope, and eye relief needed......... Grant.

Jon.
I have on set on my Ruger #1 / 270 Win.
Works ok, but compared to the original Ruger rings they are definately lightweight.

Got a couple of sets on FN Brownings. I've not had any problem with them. I'd recommend them without hesitation.
