This has been asked before, but I always feel inclined to put in my $.02. I bought my first S11 3-9x42 in about 2000. Since then I've acquired several more of their products, including some S111 binoculars. All of my experience has been positive.

My first Sightron has taken some hard use, maybe even abuse and still works. One of the scopes I bought used had a couple of issues that I didn't notice in the pictures on ebay. I called Sightrons office and sent it to them, per their instructions. One of their service people called to tell me that their scope shouldn't be used for pounding on things and promptly sent me a brand new one.

It's fair to say that I like the S11 scopes and have found their customer service to be more than satisfactory.

Hope this helps.

Have used several including the 3-9x42.

SII's are fully multi-coated - very sharp and bright.

Very strong=looking one-piece tube.

POA adjustments seem to track exceptionally well.

The SII3-9x42 is probably the best deal in an ordinary hunting scope at the moment at $200.

Reportedly these are all made in Sightron's own plant in Japan, and have been for about 15 years.

No experience with customer service as yet.

I can't really add to the other gentlemen comments concerning Sightron.
They are good to go!!

An excellent value in optics.
Ridiculously priced for the quality.

I have one a SII 4.5 X 14 X 44 mil dot. It is OK but after last time out shooting I noticed "stuff" on the glass inside. This has happened before and the factory replaced it. They are going to take care of it again also. I just don't get a warm fuzzy feeling with stuff on the inside of the glass. I am giong to put it on something that recoils less than my 300 win.

Not to minimize your problem with Sightron, but if it's any consolation, I had "stuff" on the inside of a $1700 scope. Turns out it was just dust. They fixed and sent it back.
Shit happens.....

Yes after talking to Sightron, they said it was stuff from the electronic unit for the lighted reticle. They are replacing it. It is going to go on my 260 when I get it back. I am putting an IOR in place of the Sightron on my 300 win. Sightron has really good customer service, I will say that.

I own better than a half dozen of the S2's now. All on varmint rifles, mostly 6x24's. Do some side/side with other scopes, and I think you will join the Sightron club.
