The 2 that come to mind are the Meopta Meostar 1.7-10x42 (we have on sale for only $1,049.99) or the new Swarovski Z5 2.4-15x50
Both are amazing and in your price range

I bought a lot of Leica er5 when Leica discontinued them.

At $1k price point I think Swarovski z3 and z5 are excellent scopes. Leopoldo vx6.

I'll second the Meostar R2. I bought one from Doug and am very pleased with it.

I haven't used a Meostar R2 yet but a friend who has one is thrilled with the optical quality and price. Believe me, that says something considering he is an optic's snob. I know Doug will take good care of you if that is the route you choose. Hopefully, I'll be jumping on that bandwagon very soon.

I own a R2 1.7X10X42. It is on a 375 Weatherby. Has been shot considerably.
It has one of the very best reticles I have ever used. basically a German #4 dot. The dot can be illuminated.
Thumbs up for it or a Leupold VX5 or VX6
