I have a used Ruger RSM in 458 Lott. I want to put a scope on it. I have read all the posts on the site regarding the Lott and it's ability to destry scopes. For that reason I am leaning toward the 2.5 compact Leupold. However, I am wondering if anyone has used the new Swarovski Z6 1-6 x 24 EE on a heavy recoiling gun?

The Leupold is proven performer on DG rifles. I can attest to that as well as many others. If you go Leupold, you won't be wrong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ColdBore 1.0 - the ballistics/reloading software solution http://www.patagoniaballistics.com

I would skip the Z6 and put on a Leupold VXIII 1-5 or a 1.75-6. I just don't see much advantage between the European manufacturers "American" series versus the Leupolds.... If you want a Swaro, the PH series is what gave them the reputation and a 1-4 would be my choice. Their is a clear advantage between the PHs and a Leup. Also the Schmidt and Benders work well at the same price range. John

Take that Swaro Z6(i) 1-6x24 - its absolutely the best scope I have ever seen in it´s class of small magnifition scopes!!! It has an awesome brilliant picture....!!! Klaus www.titanium-gunworks.de

My bad on the Z6, that is the better line of the Swaro scopes, it is similar to the PH except for the 6X zoom multiplier, I wouldn't feel to bad putting one on a rifle... I have a PH1-4 circle dot on a 458 win mag which seems unphasd by the recoil. A friend has a PH 1-4 on his 460 Weatherby, again no probs. Should handle the recoil just fine. I am not sure if Swaro is making the american hunter series or not, but I would reccomend against them. John
