I am considering a Bushnell Elite 4200 4X16X40 for my Remington Sendaro SFII, in 7mm Mag. This is for long range hunting, deer and antelope in wide open space of western USA. What is your opinion on this scope for this rifle and purpose? Also what are the reticles like on this scope? I have not had an opportunity to look through one and wonering how the reticle compares in thickness to other similar scopes?

Thanks

I've got (2) of them & they are very nice scopes; dollar for dollar, hard to beat. Mine however, are on lesser caliber rifles than yours. Haven't noticed any real difference in reticle from others.

Talk is cheap - except when Congress does it.

I have the 3200 4x12 on a Rem 700 in 264 WM....and I think it's a great scope. The 4200 should be as good or better optics based on $$ difference. Mine has the fast focus eyepiece...a nice touch.

I have one of the 4200 4-16x40s....mounted on a LR 260 Pac Nor/Savage FP..shootin it today in fact with Nosler 120 BTs & Nosler 130 ABs..very clear glass...repeatable clicks...somewhat shorter than the older 6-24 long tube models..the semi target towers are a bit hard to read...you can't get a better 4-16 for the $$..I also have one of the new 4200 30mm Tactical 6-24...on a 260 AI...haven't really wrung it out yet...
