I have an older Redfield straight 16 target scope with adj objective. Been trying to search and find out what model and approx value, but have not been able to locate anything. Does anyone know of a good site to research older Redfields, or if someone can help I will e-mail a pic to you. I would like to trade this scope for something with variable power.

Thanks
Bill

From my handy-dandy book on old rifle scopes:

Redfield made two Target models...the 3200, external adjustments (1968-1982) and the 6400’s, internal adjustments (1974-1984).

They were available in 12, 16, 20 and 24x.

The 3200’s are worth anywhere from $400.00 to $500.00 (with mounts) and the 6400’s a bit less...all depending on condition of course.

Thank you very much Rick. That was a big help. Mine is the 6400 and is in great shape.

Thanks Again

They are really nice scopes, but if you are interested in selling or trading you might want to contact Chris Hyde at Vintage Sporting (256) 534-9292.

Thanks Rick, I will give him a holler. I would like to swap it for a variable power scope that I can use on one of my varmint rigs or hunting rifles.

Thanks
Bill

Bill,

I have bought a few scopes from Chris and he is extremely honest and provides great service to his customers. He has tons of scopes and he is one of the few people I have dealt with that actually describes his used scopes accurately. If he says it’s 95% it will actually look brand new when you take it out of the box.

He advertises in Gun List and lists the scopes he has for sale.
