Recently picked up a Hensholdt Wetzlar Dural Dialytan 4x Scope that has apparently got caught in some bad weather or flooding. Scope has some light rust and mud/dirt caked on it, but the bluing seems to be in good condition and a good brushing seems to remove a lot. But I don't want to do further damage by doing something that shouldn't be done. Inside is badly fogged to the point of not being able to see through it. but removing the ocular bell, the lenses look like they are in good condition and should clean up OK. Was wondering what the best way to take this completely apart and cleaning, thinking about soaking in mineral spirits and lightly brushing before attempting to remove too much in the way of the bases, rings and screws. Is there any one that rebuilds these kind of scopes, maybe Premiere Optics? Phil | ||
