On a recent hunting trip, Browningguy showed me a Weaver 4.75 Grand Slam that is very bright and sharp, nothing like the Weavers of old, and priced very reasonably. Anyone else have experience with Grand Slams? Particularly the 3x9? Thanks in advance!

I haven't used the 4.75x you speak of, but own a 6.5-20x. If anything the higher magnification should show any problems optically. These are excellent scopes. Eye relief is a bit short on some models.

The optical quality is right in the vicinity of Nikon Monarchs and Bushnell Elite 4200's. I rate them near equal to the Nikon and a bit better than the 4200. I own all three.

If you are in the market for one the Grand Slams are good value for the money and of plain good quality.
