Members, I’m in the market for a Schmidt & Bender 3-12x50 what is best Variable Hunting 30mm Riflescope or the Zenith 3-12x50 30mm? And what is the variation between them, some experts that know the difference? Thank you, Roland

I have used th S&B 3-12X42 and the ZEISS 2.5-10X50 which are both great hunting scopes. I should think the 3-12x50 would also be great.

I have a 3x12x50 Kkassik and it is great. From what I understand their is no differance between it and the Zennith other than apperance. The SB seem to be built like tanks! It's always so quiet when the goldfish die.(Bror Blixen) DRSS Merkel 470 NE

Rsm458Lott, Which type of rings should I use 375 H&H - some hunters state S&B have a problem with long actions. Any input. Thank you, Roland

The Zenith is a completely new product line. Lighter in weight, shorter, different lenses and coating. Zenith is the top-line, whereas the Klassik is the budget range.

A big factor with some of the S&B models is that some come with greater eye relief which is important for calibers beyond 7mm.

To my understanding the Zenith line has the reticle in the second focal plane as opposed to the FFP (first focal plane)

As far as I know the reticle is in the first focal plain (magnifying), the Flash Dot is housed in the second one (non magnifying).

Roland I have always had good luck with Talley rings. Some of the SB models have shorter tubes wich can be a problem with long action guns. It's always so quiet when the goldfish die.(Bror Blixen) DRSS Merkel 470 NE
