Need a scope for a Rem Sendero in .300 Win Mag. This will be used on deer and elk with most of the shooting averaging 300-350 yds. 450 yds will probably be the maximum range. Weight is not a big concern.

I'm thinking a 3.5-10X or 4.5-14 Leupold with a 30mm tube.

What about S&B?? I've heard they are simply THE best. What model would the experts here suggest?

Kahles is an excellent scope

and the multi zero would be helpful at those ranges.

I've got a 2.5-10x42 Swaro on my .300 with a S&B 3-12x42 as my backup. My .375 has a 1.5-6x42 Swaro. You can't go wrong with either of those brands for sure. All of mine are illuminated. Good luck!

I can whole heartedly recommend the Leupold 4.5X14X40 LR scope for your 300 magnum.

I recently bought a new Remington XCR chambered for the 300 WSM cartridge. I was all set to put on a Leupold 3.5X10X40 like I have on a couple of other rifles. Then I took the time to really compare those scopes with the 4.5X14 that my dad uses.

I really did not think I wanted a 30mm scope, but after studying things changed my mind. My dad and I went hog hunting and right at daylight we could see the crosshairs much better in his scope. Matter of fact, they stood out better in all conditions. The 30mm scope is just brighter and so sharp and clear.
Keep in mind, this is comparing with a Leupold VX-III not some junk scope.

I bought the Long Range scope and mounted it on the XCR. It is a great scope, period. I took it hog hunting the other day and we got into some hogs right at dark, darned dark. I could see the crosshairs well and made a good shot on a running hog as did my dad. We were impressed with the light gathering of those scopes.

Then the next day we used those same scopes to shoot at a gong that hangs 400 yards from the shooting bench we set up. These scopes have the Boone and Crockett reticles in them and it was not problem to virtually center punch that 400 yard gong when using the 400 yard line in those scopes shot after shot.

I was so impressed that I came home and ordered another Long Range model to replace the one inch 4.5X14 Leupold that sits on my 270 WSM.

Either a 3-12x50 or 4-16x50 Swaro with the TDS reticle. The TDS works really well in 300 Mags. The 3-12 has a 1st focal plane TDS that works at all magnifications, the 4-16x50 is a 2nd focal plane. The 3-12 is probably better in low light since the reticle gets larger and easier to see, the 4-16 has an adjustable AO that might be better for long range. Both are very nice....................DJ

S&B is always a good choice the Swarovskis have already been mentioned thumb
