Is there a red dot scope out there that would standup to the recoil of a 458 win mag.

Aimpoints and the Bushnell Holosight have survived the recoil of .454 Casull handdguns, so they would certainly manage the recoil of a .458WinMag. George

I have a Burris Fastfire II "reflex" on my 450 400 NE in a Ruger No 1 and I know another forum member that has one on a double of the same caliber. It was designed for auto pistol slides, so my guess is that it will hold up on heavy rifles just fine. Cliff Cliff NRA Life Member CMP Distinguished Rifleman NRA Master, Short and Long Range

I recommend the Aimpoint T1. It's bombproof, light, and compact.

EOTech's and Aimpoints will survive. Aimpoints are Red Dots, and EOTech's are Holo sights, parallax free from 22 yards to infinity. EOTech designed the holo sight Bushnell now makes.

I had understood Bushnell had discontinued the Holosight, leaving old stock or used ones or the Eotech as the only true holographic sights. Are they still making it? ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story

Take a look at the Doctor Optic. It automatically, and instantly adjusts for the prevailing light condition. It is small, compact and light weight. I prefer it to the EOTec and Aimoint for a hunting gun. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
