I have started to collect vintage Weaver rifle scopes as I find the quality, the look, and the utilitarian nostalgia to be fascinating. It is a pretty cool hobby to go along with reloading and shooting. Plus, you can even use them if you want. The perfect addition to an older rifle.

Joe, "Period Correct" scopes have become a big deal now. Can't have a 1960s John Rigby wearing a Leupold VX-7...it's just not "proper" :-)

The reason I bought 3 Remington scopes that were produced in very limited numbers. They were built in the custom shop in 24X and 30X in the style of the Unertl scopes except they were receiver mounted and not on the barrel. They were primarily for the 40X rimfires.

Not sure it's a collection but I have:
15X Litschert on an early #1 varminter
Lyman 438 on a Stevens 44
Mossberg L6C on an L43. That is a left hand target .22 with a true left hand scope mount. It also has a left hand Lyman 57MS sight on it.

I do have a Kahles Helia in 6X42 that is probably from the late 60s. It really has incredible optics.

Maybe I should collect them, since I think the late '60s and '70s may have been a golden age in Continental scopes, at least, before they secumbed to the image-movement decadence.
