I am looking at getting a new spotting scope to replace my under performing Leupold Sequoia. The two scopes I have narrowed it down too are the Pentax and Minox. They look like they fit exactly what I want but can't really decide between the two. They are almost identical in features and I don't know of anyplace in my area that carries either one. Does anybody have experience with either of them?

I have the Pentas with the XW14 (28X) eyepiece.

It's EXCELLENT right out to the edges and allows me to see .30 cal bullet holes in the black at 200yds. The possibility of getting 46X (xw7) and other eyepieces for it is good. There is a website that reviews it favorably for "birding" and looking at the stars... good lenses. It's also been knocked over on a tripod and survived from about 5 ft. The variable 20-60 eyepiece is not as good (as I suspect most variable aren't). PM and I'll give you that website or you can just google Pentx 65ED, I believe.
