My understanding is that it is a re-shaped illumination unit with the brightness controls on the sides rather than the top (so narrower) and the illumination range is wider. I don't think you would be giving up anything, but some found the original a bit ugly. |

| Well, You could find the info in German here on my website: http://www.titanium-gunworks.d...optik/z6i/index.htmlThe optics themself has not changed. Mainly the illumination controll, which is smaller now, has a better switch and an automatic switch-off when You put the rifle in the safe /corner BUT The Ballistic Turrent has now a locking mechanism (this is not sold in the US so far! - so if You want this option, you must buy within Europe!) plus a feelable "point of 100" at the parralax adjustment. For me myself the lockable BT option has the most value! Best regards Klaus |

ha - 5 minutes? Must be a joke! After 5 minutes the light goes off when the pigs are ready for shooting in the nighttime... That does not make sense to a European hunting pigs style at night! Swarovski "older" scopes switches off after 3 hours... |

| It turns back on automatically when you move the gun so it saves the battery. Why would u want a light on for 3 hour if the gun is sitting on your lap? Once you pick the scope up to shoot it turns back on so 5 minutes seems good to me |
