I want to mount an old Nickel Supra 1.5-6x42 on my Sako L61R but am having trouble finding bases that give any eye relief flexibility. The scope has short rails and I have various claw mounts and one pair that attaches to Optilok or a Picatinny set-up. Trouble is there's a chance even the Optilok extension mount will leave the scope too close to my eye. Much as I hate the look of them, there's a chance a Picatinny would give me chance to move the scope forward if needed but it looks as though no one makes that sort of rail to fit on the Finnbear action. Those rail mounts I've got each have one countersink-head screw (about 5mm/three 16ths thread dia.) through the bottom. Would it fit a Burris base or something else? Though the fitting would be a challenge, I'd consider using the claw mounts if I could find some bases made to fit the Sako dovetails. Any ideas? | ||
