Has anyone given this scope a shot yet? It has everything a cheap scope could copy from the Biggies. FFP reticle, 30mm tube, good looking knobs and even one for side focus. $249.99 at a store near you. Wish the power was higher, but am I giving too much weight to the FFP reticle? I was looking to try this type for the late groundhog season on a .243 Win bolt gun. The reviews run everywhere, most good, but some horrible. However the quality of shooters on this board would have an opinion that I would give more weight to. Thanks.

my opinion is your gonna get just what you are seeing in the reviews.
it's your 250.00 gamble.
I'd pass myself
add on's and gizmo's are fine, but it's glass quality and how things are sealed that make a good scope.
a great scope has positive adjustments that are repeatable and stay where you put them under recoil.

If the FFP reticle means it is actually reticle-moving, like some of Valdada's tactical scopes, it might be a sleeping beauty. Can you wind the reticle out of centre easily?

BSA is not thought highly of in the air gun community. i would certainly hesitate to put it on a rifle with any significant recoil....

BSA= Back Slowly Away
I was given a NIB unopened BSA scope. It did not work from the start. After much trying I called and they had be send it back WITH $10. Goth the next new one. Same story. Another $10 and an old Bushnell went on the rifle temp. It shot fine. Got the 3rd scope and it is working. I am holding my breath. When it craps out I will use it as a target and just buy a Weaver/Bushnell for the rifle. It is not a rifle I will spend the money on and get a good Leupold for.

"..Reviews run everywhere..."

Yes, REVIEWS..... The thing about reviews is you don't know the knowledge and experience level of the writer...

You might get a guy with excellent writing skills, but his only experience prior was with a used Tasco, so he writes a glowing review on his brand new (cheap) scope..

And you might get a guy that can't write his name that has deep pockets and nothing but high end glass on his rifles that disparages the scope in question..

As a result, I put very little value in "product review" posts... Unless I know the person personally and know their level of experience and way of thinking..

What I do KNOW, and have learned, and the hard way I might add, is that you get what you pay for with optics..

Obviously, Frank, there are dodgy dudes spruiking for certain brands and some people on internet forums who don't know what they are talking about.

However, compared with magazine reviews where nothing really disparaging is ever mentioned and an ad for the product appears on the adjacent page, I find the varied opinions of humble hunters here about as good as it gets.
