I too bought the Leica Geovids in 10x42.
Last June I hunted in South Africa and my PH used the Leica's I used my Nikon 10x42 and my separate rangefinder.
Shortly after my return to the states I started shopping and found a like new in the box Leica Geovid, 10x42 range finding in yards on e bay for $1510.00 shipped.
So glad to have switched to an all in one and the optical and ranging quality is better than anything I've ever had.
Not sure why people want to lug 2 pieces of equipment, maybe they don't have far to walk.

Unfortunately, neither Swaro EL-R nor Leica HD-B come in anything larger than a 42mm objective for a start...

I have the 10x42 Leica BRF and haven't found it lacking in anything. Once it gets dark just pull out your NV Wink

Curious why one feels they need larger than 42, but to each his own.

I also prefer not having to lug around two separate pieces of equipment, though in my younger days never gave it 2 seconds thought how heavy all that shix I mean stuff was.

I used the EL10x42 previously and it is not a patch on the EL10x50 that I replaced it with at dawn and dusk. Its my eyes - I just need more than a 4.2mm exit pupil. So for now it is a x50 or x56 and a CRF1000-R for me

It boils down to the only difference in men and boys is the cost of mens toys..

For 70 years my only range finder was a 3 inch high zero at 100 yards, making it 4 inches high at 200 and on the money at 275 to 300 depending on the caliber and gun, a center hold was good to 400 or better but I seldom needed to take a shot passed 300 as I can usually get closer by hunting the animal..

A few months ago I broke down and purchased a Vortex Range Finder, it works, but my life has not changed much, It seems I shoot then range the animal!! dammit! sofa
