I just bought a Burris Fastfire III last week, I have to say, I am very impressed with it so far. I have it mounted on a 480 Ruger revolver and it has taken over 100 full house loads with no problem. I also have a Trijicon RM01 for twice the price that does the exact same thing. Both have 3 moa dots, they are the same size but the Trijicon has no on/off switch, its on 24/7 for a year (battery change) The Burris has four settings for the dot, auto, high, medium, and low. I know the value of quality optics, and I am questioning the Trijicon being twice as expensive as the Burris. Does anyone have any experience with the Burris Fastfire III ? Good or bad. Has anyone had one fail, lose tracking or point of impact shift? I know optics are getting better every year, and I don't want to spend for the sake of spending money. I like this new Burris and im hoping it holds up to the recoil. Any experience you can add would be great.

I used a Burris Fastfire III on my 458 Lott for an Elephant bull. Great sight. My PH liked it a lot. Adds about no weight at all and is very quick. I have my rifle set up with irons, QR fastfire and QR scope. Covers all the bases and then some. It has held up to the recoil very well and others use them on big stuff like 500 NE and above. I also had one on my 450 NE. I think you would like one if you tried it.

Thanks clayman, if it held up to the Lott and other big bores I should be good to go. It looks like a quality piece. I like the fact that it has an on/off switch, I like the battery being protected and that you can change the battery without removing the optic. Those are all things the Trijicon doesn't have or cant do. But...I know the Trijicon has withstood the test of time and is go to hell tough. Anyone else with Burris Fastfire III experience good or bad?
