Zeiss Riflescope....What's it worth?

The item in question is a Zeiss Varipoint-V 1.1-4x24 with illuminated red-dot, no crosshairs. Zeiss calls this reticle "0 illuminated".

Scope appears new and never mounted. No ring marks at all. In box with all paperwork including warranty registration card.

Now, here's the kicker....it is in a Cabela's Bargain Cave and has been marked on the bottom of scope with 3 X's (XXX). It is written in what looks to be silver/grey Sharpie, not scratched on as they tend to do sometimes.

What do you think it is worth?

I was in market for a deal on such a scope a year ago for my 458 Lott. I would have considered $800-$1000 a bargain price. What are they asking for it?

When I shop Cabela's "Bargain cave" I have found it pays to just offer what you are wanting to pay. They have all ways come right back at me with a very good price.

Hang on TITE !!

If I had come across that deal, I probably would have bought it. As Leemar28 said, make'm an offer. All they can do is say no.
