coniferscope mount for a LH Mathieu action.....advice??
I suppose I could fumble around with a bunch of Weaver bases.....but maybe...just maybe....someone has info on applicable bases for this action. I need strong mounts; it's a 375 H&H.
Thanks!!!

Dave AndersonYou might try getting in touch with Conetrol at
www.conetrol.com. They don't list your rifle but they can make custom bases for many unlisted models.
Conetrol rings/bases are extremely strong. I have a vague recollection of a demonstration where they fired a .458 (don't recall how many shots) and the scope maintained zero even though attached with only one ring. They look good too.
Very interesting rifle you have, not a lot of those LH Mathieus were ever made.

SR4759Do a dumpster dive into some old scope mount catalogs. The Mathieu was once listed in a few. I think its receiver profile matched another rifle.

coniferI found info that profile matched later Weatherby .....so also Rem 700.

sbsmithConifer-
I have a Mathieu. The receiver profile matches the Remington 721. When Mathieu's were made, neither the Mark V nor the Rem 700 had yet seen the light of day.
