I know, I know... they don't call them "rimfire" scopes for nothin'... but I've got a specific situation that I'd like to make it work for: The scope would be Leupold's 2-7 rimfire special (VX-I, I think) and the rifle would be a 6lb 25-35 Win. single shot. Not much recoil to speak of. Why not just do the VX-II 2-7 centerfire scope? Well, I REALLY like the "extra-fine" duplex and the short overall length of the rimfire scope. Leupold professes that thier rimfire line is just as rugged as the others... My only question is will the shorter paralax setting cause problems on the max 175yd shot I'd take at whitetail? At a ground squirrel? Thank you.

I seriously doubt you'll notice any parallax under field (hunting) conditions, even on a target as small as a ground squirrel. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

That's the feedback I was hoping to hear; thanks, Bobby!

Ditto. If you keep your eye centered in the scope's ocular lens, there will be no parallax.

I asked this ? directly of Leupold a month or so ago. other than the settings (paralax etc) the scope is the same as the cenerfire models.

Or you could go to the 3-9 ,33mm version which has adjustable parallex.
