I traded for a rifle which has an Alpen Apex 4-16x50 in very nice condition on it. I'm not at all familiar with the Alpen line, but this scope has apparently been replaced with the Apex XP 4-16x44 which Optics Planet sells for $414.95 (suggested retail $648). Alpen has another line called the Kodiak which sells for much less.

I want to offer the Apex 4-16x50 for sale but I have no idea what a fair price might be. Your guidance would be appreciated.

Surely someone must have an opinion of the fair market price of this scope? I'm guessing it somewhere between zero and $400, but I really don't know which end it's closer to.

i looked around a bit and couldn't find anything anywhere. as such it's probably not great resale value maybe 200 tops??

Yeah, I can't find much either. None are currently offered on eBay. Maybe they are so scarce as to be a collector's item.

The scope's image and resolution appear quite good. But it is bulky and heavy as a boat anchor -- not the kind of scope I prefer on a hunting rifle. Might be okay on a varminter.
