Would appreciate suggestion for quality quick detachable 1" scope rings & 2 piece base for a Winchester pre 64, model 70, sr no 72,xxx, manufactured in 1947.

Scope will be a 2.5-8 x 32mm or 2-7 x 36mm

screw spacing on front & rear receivers is .865"

The rifle has open sights which I enjoy using occasionally, would prefer detachable or quick release mounts..

If you go for Leupold’s QR system, you will need offset rings for a 2.5-8 X 36 Leupold.
Or ask your gunsmith to open a little bit your front ring so it can fit.
I have this last combination in pre 64, 3006 featherweight .
Quick Release mounts won’t aloud you to use your iron sights, they are a bit to high.

weaver bases, they are low to the receiver.
