Service rifle now allows a 4.5X scope with a 34mm objective.

Hi Lux / Leatherwood offers, Hi-Lux Across the Course XTC14X34 Competition Rifle Scope

https://hi-luxoptics.com/produ...petition-rifle-scope

It looks OK but has features I don't want. I don't want a goofy reticle that glows in fancy colors. I can not tell but I'm guessing it runs on a battery? Batteries are bad. I have no use for a variable power or adjustable objective.

All I want is a traditional fixed 4x. Maybe a 30mm objective. Duplex cross hair. And a target turret for elevation, possibly windage. I'd prefer a good maker like Leupold, no toy scopes please. I can not find such a scope.

Any one know of one?

Here is near what you are looking for except for the 30mm tube.

I'm with you, Scota, but no one makes exactly the scopes I like any more. However, Nightforce makes something like you want and claims their scopes can withstand recoil from cannon calibres; and Valdada still make tactical scopes with reticle movement, I believe.

You can add a CDS dial to it for $150. I added one to a 2-7.

That is probably where I m heading, have Leupold add it.

I don't care 30mm or 1". I definitely want a plain old duplex cross hair. I want the largest objective lens allowed. The ones with a straight tube are giving away light gathering capability.

The good old Leupold fixed 4x looks alike a very good choice, after I add turrets.

Leupold will make you one for an extra $90 over the base price, using the FX-II 4X with 33mm objective, if you buy the scope from them. So, about $400 total. IF you supply a scope to convert it is $225.

They have an "across the course" scope in the works that will be similar. They are getting interest since the rules change allowing scopes for service rifle.
