I just ordered a new Rock River AR-15 (Elite Operator 2) and I would like to put an Aimpoint red-dot sight on the rifle. I would appreciate any information/experience you guys could provide me with. I'm thinking about the Aimpoint Comp M3......does anyone have experience with this sight?

I bought an aimpoint red dot back around 1990 for like 100 bucks for a mini-14 beater. It still works like new and I'm only on third battery; pretty well built I'd say.

I looked at their site myself, trying to decide which one to order for another AR. Be good to see which model everybody else is happy with.

ive got two m2s and a m3 and there excellent sights. As rugged as they come and have good enough battery life that they can be left on all the time. What i do is every new years day replace the batterys in mine. theyd probably go 2 years in a m2 and longer then that in a m3 but its just good insurance in my opinion.

It and the EO Tec are both good choices. I also recommend the 3x, or 4x Magnifier on the flip mount that goes just behind the red dot.

I have two EOTechs and am very happy with them.

Not sure what you are doing w/this rifle but I prefer the 1mil dot on myEOTech.

Ditto here, a 512 and a 552.
However, Aimpoints get great reviews from the Red Dot users as being the best Red Dot made.
The EOTechs are Holo-sights, and are parallax free from 22 yards to infinity.
