Got the newest Cabelas Sale circular today and they are selling the Zeiss Conquest 1.8-55 x 38 for $330. Seems like a pretty good price.

Opinions??

Great scope, I just bought 2 of them. Most places have them for $299 which is the special Zeiss has been advertising. Buy elsewhere.

Such as:

While I really like the Conquest scopes note that the weight of this particular one is quite high at Weight (oz): 18! I got this weight from the specs here.

I do have Conquests in 2.5-8, 3-9 and the 4.5-14. The 2.5-8 weighs 13.75 oz. Generally the best Conquest prices are at Cameraland

Get the 'power' or optic that your eye likes instead of what someone else says.

When we go to the doctor they ask us what lens we like!

Do that with your optics.

I bought both of mine from Cameraland but unfortunately they are now out of stock.

Weight on my digital postal scale is about 15 oz.

Zeiss had the Conquest 1.8-5.5x38 on special due to the fact that they have discontinued this model. Once retailers are out of them, they are not going to be able to get them any more.

They are just like the other Zeiss Conquest scopes ... hand adjustments under caps, nitrogen filled tube.

Nice scopes.

Someone on another thread pointed out that they have a more limited field of view than we might be used to in a scope for a DGR. Personally I think they'd be fine. I have them mounted on a 9,3x62, .376 Steyr, and a .376/.416 Steyr Improved.

My rifles are mostly set up with the same rings on exactly the same centers, so I use the 1.8-5.5 as spares when I hunt the .416 Rigby and .458 AR.
