Anyone had a chance to use these yet? I missed the boat on their Gold Ring and switch power series a few years ago and am now in the market for a reasonably priced ($500-1000) pair of binos. This series seems to be (by Leupolds account, anyway) their return to premium binos after dropping the gold ring series. I going to try and get up to cabelas next week to try and get a look through a pair of the McKinleys. I'm not entirely set on just Leupolds, so any other suggestions in my price range above would be appreciated.

I just received the 8x from Cabelas today. I went out to my parking lot to look at some brush in the distance and my first impression is very favorable. Exceptionally clear and crisp edge to edge. I paid $ 600 delivered and it included 10% back in Cabelas bonus points so the real cost is $ 540. They are in the same league as the best European models for a substantially lower price. I don't think you can go wrong especially when you consider how well Leupold backs their guarantees.

I have a pair of the 8x42's and they are fantastic, very close to my 10x42 SLC HD's. IMO Leupold hit a home run with these.
