| I have two a 3.5x10x50 and a 3x9x40 and have been impressed. I would say that they are at LEAST a good middle road scope. I actually prefer them to my 3 year oldish VX III's of which I have a few. The fast focus eyepiece is nice, and the clarity is just as good IMO. I have shot one of these on a 375 a lot, and it hasn't missed a beat, the other one resides on a 204 ruger and I shoot that rig at 200+ yards only (at thee range) and it has performed really great for me.....If you are planning on using them, I think you will be very happy. |

| From what I have been able to deduce, the Nitrex TR Ones are comparable to the Weaver Grand Slam line, while the Nitrex TR Two's are essentially the Weaver Super Slam line. Natchez Shooters Supply has them on closeout and they also have a $50 rebate available on the TR Ones and a $100 rebate on the TR Two's. Very tempting for what are high quality japanese made optics. The only drawback I can find is that they are heavier than a lot of scopes (Leupold). But a Nitrex TR Two 3-15x42 for $199.95 after rebate sounds like quite a deal when you consider the same scope with the Weaver Super Slam box goes for $499.99
Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

| Stoneybroke, Let us know how you like that Nitrex TR Two. I am a sucker for dirt cheap scope deals. Picked up 2 of the Intensity Optics 6.5-20x44 scopes from Natchez a couple of years ago for $89 a piece. The Intensity was Federal's value line and I think assembled in the Phillipines, as opposed to the higher quality Nitrex line made in Japan. But both the TR 0ne 3-9x42 for $99.99 after rebate and the TR Two 3-15x42 for $199.99 after rebate does sound like a great deal. The kind I have a tendency to want in on. I am trying to be patient while a buddy tries to get me a deal on a Leupold, but those Nitrex deals are red hot, IMO.

| The tr2, 3-15x 42 arrived today. Optics are good, not great. I campared the to 3-12 monarch, 3.5-10vxIII and a Leupold LPS. The TR2 resolution blew away the Monarch and was about equal to the vxIII, The LPS won hands down. All scopes were set at 10x. The etched reticle is really different. The horizontal and verical hairs of the heavy duplex end shy of center. This leaves a small gap with a smaller dot in the center. Three lower short horizontal hairs will allow use at longer ranges, depending on caliber and bullet type. A caliber/range table is included with instruction on use. Turrets have an nice feel with very positive clicks. No caps to remove and turrets can be rest to zero. Side parallax is adjustable from 15 yards to 500 with a infinity setting? Scope is heavy. My only complaint is a huge garish Nitrex label that is glued to the barrel of the scope just behind the objective. Once I get that abortion removed, I'll be a happy camper. I'll mount this glass on a Swift for varmints or a 257 Weatherby for deer, depending on low light performance. |

| I've used a 3x9x42 on a couple trips, including Africa, and it worked just fine. It's a bit heavy, but durable.
