Probably too close to call optically speaking.
Nikon might have better reticle options than Sightron.
Have you considered reticles yet?

Both scopes are really very good.

Nikon has two choices: BDC and Nikoplex. Uncertain what Sightron has. But the difference in price has Nikon in favor. Thanks for input...... Where did you get your avitar?

Opt for the nikon and don't look back. The sightron is available with plex, mil dot, fine crosshair, and fine crosshair dot. I had the 4x16 sightron big sky and like about half dozen others who have posted on optics sites this past summer got one that wouldn't focus properly. It has only been posted about concerning this power scope. I returned mine and switched to another brand. The scope tube was pretty short and required extension rings for a long action bolt rifle.....the plex is very fine. I was used to conquest reticles and didn't like the fine plex for lowlight use. I would therefore choose the nikon if I was picking between the two. PM me if you have any questions and I will provide you with some forum links to problems. They also have been wanting to fix....not replace these scopes.....they are supposed to have a free replacement warranty.

BDC, Mil Dot, and Nikoplex on the 4-16x Monarch.

The 4-16x BS has Plex, Target Dot, or Mil Dot.

So, I guess you could call it a draw..(grin)

I just got the 4-16x Monarch with BDC two days ago. So far, it looks like a really nice scope mounted on my Remington 700 .308.

(Stole avatar off somebody...AR15.com maybe?)

Thanks for the compliment.
I'll shoot it Tuesday and post some comments on Optics Talk.

Good shooting!
