I will probally never shoot 1000yds. But here is the question I have a 7mm rum that I want toput a new scope on. I was thinking of a nikon 5-20 X44 with the new CDS turrets fro 100-1000yds. Does anyone know of any better scopes set up this way in the $500-$800 range.

In that price range Nikon is very hard to beat. There's a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x that is around $1000---$800 refurbed from Cameralandny. Otherwise, not sure what to suggest.

Take a look at the Vortex Viper PST. Loaded with features and highly rated. Street cost should be at the top end of your range. Unconditional lifetime warranty. I've just ordered the 6-24x50
