Setting up a cz455 with a manners stock. All my other cz rimfires have Nikon prostaff. Any recommendation for a good scope for mainly target shooting for rim fires ? Thanks Mike

Beretta--I put rimfires pretty much in same category as air rifles in that most shots are usually under 50 yards. For this reason, I'd get a scope that will focus at closer range than 50 yards. The Leupold with EFR (extended focus range) would be my pick. Same scope could be used on a magnum if need be.

Many of the Athlon scopes are from 10 yards and up

What distances? For 50 and 100 yd paper just about anything will work - Weaver or Leup BR scope down to about any EFR low power variable, depending on secondary purpose or not. Distance is another thing. Reliable turrets and lots of adjustment range. That will mean 30mm or more.

If you're interested in shooting distance, which with the Manners stock it sounds like you are, the SWFA 6x is great for the reliable/repeatable adjustments and parallax settings....which makes it nice for closer in as well. Reticle is great for target (especially holding windage after dialing for distance) and small game. It's a fairly large scope so if you're wanting something small it may not be what you're looking for.

I snatched all mine off and put Meopta 3 - 9 x 42s on them after buying and trying one. They work goooood and I like em. I had Leupold's like the 4-12 VX2 and others that was really a rimfire scope and these Meoptas are better all around in my applications. For true competition or longer range you'd need more magnification of course. But from 15 to 100 yards these are tops for us.
