New generation rail mounts are picatinny-like with tension screws underneath ; they are easy to install. Older rail mounts require drilling through the rail for the cross screws. It MUST be drilled straight, so it's better done by a cratsman. Previous mount drilled for cross screws Latest version André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.

Also don't forget that the rails on Swarovski, Zeiss, S&B and others differ, so that you need a specific mount. Proud DRSS member

That is eactly how it works on the Zeiss internal rail mount. The Allen screws inserted from the bottom of the mount each hold a square nut. Loosen the screws. The (now loose) nuts need to be slid into the internal of scope mounting rail. Then insert each Allen screw again and assemble scope and mount semi-loosely. Then determine right distance to eye, and tighten screws. If you feel like it, you can then unscrew the Allen screws again one by one, and fix with a bit of (blue?) Loc-Tite. Btw, are those screws Allen or Torx - I think Torx... - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon...
