Thanks, Doug.

The upper-end Athlon glass is really nice. But sadly, they don't offer a simple hunting reticle with a single, small illuminated dot with capped turrets in anything but the Argos line. The new Heras model with 56mm objective is no different.

A duplex with a small illuminated dot and capped turrets would get my attention in a hurry. I just don't have any use for Christmas tree reticles and bulk turrets for dialing at extra-long yardages.

And I really don't see why manufacturers produce scopes with 56mm objectives and then only outfit them with target-style setups intended for long-range applications. Roll Eyes

The Steiner Predator 4 is a perfect example of this. Yet for the Euro market, they offer the 4a-i reticle in the Ranger 4 and refuse to allow that model into the states. I guess marketing tells them there are only tacti-cool needs here in the US. Big Grin
