Well, googling those words finds answers between 3.7 and four inches, which might be just long enough for a dangerous-game rifle. Eye relief is strictly measured from eye to lens surface, which doesn't help much if you're hit by an over-long eyepiece. At least you'll be punched by a big, fat rubber ring, which creates tunnel vision, rather than cut, though cuts are still possible.

With luck the eye distance is relatively constant. In the old days a scope like that might have five inches at 1x but have shrunk to 3.5 inches by 2x and to less than three at 4x.

Nickel AG claim 4.9 inches for their Magnum 1.5-6x30 but it costs more than $4000 and can only be got by mail order, so it would still be pig in a poke. I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives but can't think what they are.

I have one on my 500 MDM (500gr bullet, 2,420 fps), and it works well. Michael458 wound up using the Nikon African when testing his big-bore stuff over thousands of rounds, as everything else seemed to give up the ghost.

I hold this in my hands. multiplicity 1,1 - probably nominal - the image in the eyepiece the normal size, and you can look at the target with both eyes. Be subjected to destructive tests - was not my intention, I tried it maximum on the carbine 9,3x64, but now it is on semi-automatic carbine 308 caliber. This is for hunting in wood, when necessary to shoot at a short distance, when the boars jump over the clearing. I am very happy. The eye relief is very large (over 4 inches), but look comfortable - the diameter of the lens is large. The tube diameter is 1 inch and 30 mm - don't know if this is of any significance.

Swarovski Z6 has a low end variable, something like 1.1-6x24 EE (Extended Eye relief) scope. I think it has an eye relief of around 6 inches. Similarly, there is the Nickel 1.5(?)-6x30, which has an eye relief of around 6 inches too.

Both are spendy.

Apologies, the eye reliefs are more like 5 inches (125 mm). My error, converting mm to inches. In any case, I missed the point of the post: Nikon scope specifically and not asking about long eye relief 'scopes.

These are excellent rifle and scope, but not illuminated version.
