Cold Weather use of Illuminated Reticles

There is a lot of discussion about illuminated reticles but they seem mostly from people in warmer climates. I am curious how the battery holds up in extreme cold. I know my cell phone craps out at about 20*F. Would an illuminated reticle battery hold up on a sub zero Canadian deer hunt? Anyone with experience?

On a recent hunt in northern Maine the temperature hovered at zero all day with snow that had to be cleaned periodically from the scope. No problems with the illumination on a Leupold vx6, then or through the rest of a ten day hunt.

A guy from the Dallas area has been hunting up north in some brutally-cold temps and using his 3-18x50 VX-6 for the past several years. I know he couldn't get an in-the-field picture of his 2017 whitetail because his phone quit on him, but he's mentioned no issues with his scope. I'm going to send him an e-mail later today to see if that has changed, though.

Lou-

I got a reply. He says he's never had an issue with the CR2032 and CR2354 batteries in the cold. His only scope-type problem was the first year he had the VX-6. In extreme cold, the magnification ring became impossible to turn. He sent it in after that incident and says it is better but still tighter than he'd prefer.

Do the Leupold warranty conditions restricting rangefinders, thermal products and other electronic devices to two years apply to scopes with illumination?

I use VXR and VX6 on all of my rifles. I pack my rifles everywhere, every day whether hunting, snowmobiling or just walking the dogs. ZERO issue with the reticle or batteries!
