So I should see them on IWA then I hope...

But the technical data does not tell wonders - so what are they making better then their competitors?

In general I think the answer to your question is that it is being made by Leica to Leica performance levels which in the world of optics is as superior as it gets.

Compared against a Swarovski???

where Swaro has SR rail, 6x zoom, perfect illumination unitand more the 30 years of experience of scope design? (-> a scope has to withstand much more forces then a pair of binoculars!)

I am open to that Leica, but then it must bring anything better then their competitors and in my opinion, the Swarovski Z6 scopes is a "hard to crack nut" for any manufacturer !!!)

May I ask the status on the new Schmidt&Bender 2.5-10x40 (1" tube)?
- surely that must be right up there as competition against the new Leica.

There must be a mistake on the FOV at minimum magnification, 475' and 341'? Gotta be a mistake.

It would be nice if they assembled the scope in the USA as Swar has done with their AV line. I have a few AV's and their optics are spectacular and 1/2 the cost of the Euro mfg. units.
The Dollar is driving up euro products these days.

Doug,

Do you have any specs on the internal adjustment ranges for elevation and windage on the Swaro Z6 and these new Leicas?

I was told by a person in the Leica booth at SCI Reno that they hired the top engineer from Swaro and Zeiss to go to work for them and design these scopes?? Looked through both models,(inside the convention) optics looked good, but the price puts them in the same range as their competitors. Not available until Fall 09 puts them in a hole already if you ask me.

Compared against a Swarovski??? Swaro's tend to be overpriced, although good, Zeiss will always outperform!,( I have both on rifles) I also prefer my Leica Geovids to my Zeiss bino's, Steve. Smiler
