Quite frankly, I've read enough about S&B's lacking customer service that I doubt I'd ever buy one of their products.

For something with such a premium price and reputation that they would treat a customer as such.

Sad.

Regards,

Robert

The whole world watches AR Big Grin Priceless.

What are your plans for your S&B with no objective lens?

Seems a very expensive quote...

Besides the lens being loose, was there anything else wrong with it?

Would it originally have contained nitrgen??

I'd drop Doug at Cameraland an email and see if he can recommend any small indipendant repair shops..

Peter

I would have thought this would be a warranty issue?

I think I own my one and only S&B scope, a 4x36. Based on what's going on with Butchloc, I'll pass on future S&B's and go straight to Swaro, or Zeiss rifle scopes. I got a mad on with Leupold now, so no more Leupold's till they clean up that issue... thumbdown

DMB,

I wouldn't be too hasty...On one of the other forums a guy knocked one of the turrets off his S&B scope...

S&B quoted him about an 8 or 9 week turn around time for getting it to Germany and back, and sent him a replacement scope of the same type while his was getting fixed.. As far as I recall, the repair was covered under the warrenty..

Regards,

Peter

the scope repair should have been warranty, but this is a bit of an odd one. its called a mayflower and its a draw tube telescope. pulls out to about 3' long and collapses to about 10", so its awful handy to take hunting. when it comes back I think i'll take a crack at fixing it myself. since its a drawtube there is no filling, but i think i'll fill it with either nitrogen or argon anyway

I think you will find that they purge them with nitrogen to dry it out, but I doubt that many scopes have any remaining nitrogen.
